Friday Morning Musings

Listen lovingly

“Life is amazing.
And then it’s awful.
And then it’s amazing again.
And in between the amazing and the awful, it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living. Heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.”  ~ LR Knost

I keep finding myself somewhere in between amazing and awful this year, and when I’m in the awful place it is not easy to listen lovingly:)

Since moving to the Pacific Northwest, I’ve learned that hearing wild nature sounds fills me up, elevates my energy, and helps me regain a sense of balance.

Last week I shared Quiet Planet’s work because 6 or 7 years ago I emailed them to see if I could buy some of their nature sounds for my Qigong classes. The owner was intrigued by the idea, and suggested we create something together for my classes. Totally awestruck, I said YES!

During our first session we crafted a rough cut for my student’s review, and used their feedback for the final cut resulting in our cd titled HEALING SEA, Sounds of the Salish Sea.

Here are a few testimonials…

“My husband and I have listened to it every night as we fall asleep . We both find that we are sleeping deeper and longer than we used to . (We are both generally light sleepers and tended to wake up often.) Listening to Healing Sea has made a huge difference. We sincerely thank you.”

“This music gives me a feeling of peace and refreshment.”

“I closed my eyes & felt as thou I was on a lovely beach with wonderful waves & wind around me. Such a soothing sound & my body in turn relaxed, so of course I felt much better. I shall continue to listen & enjoy. Thank you.”

Do you miss the beach or have trouble sleeping or are more tense than you’d like to be? Allow these organic healing sounds to wash over you as their sound waves cleanse your mind, body, spirit and emotions of any pain, anxiety or loss.

“The earth has music for those who listen.” William Shakespeare
