Tomorrow the first day of Spring arrives, and it reminds me of a seasonal ritual – spring cleaning:)
Over the years I have realized spring cleaning rituals are essential for creating ease, balance and harmony in life.
Here are 3 ways that help us loosen up as we lighten up.
1 – Clear your space. Time to let go of any accumulated clutter. We do this to free up space and make room for fresh new energy to come into our lives.
2 – Breathe deeply. Breathing slowly and deeply in seated or moving meditation practice oxygenates the blood, cleanses the lungs of old stagnant air and sets a peaceful tone for the day.
3 – Move your body. Be creative. I stretch while waiting for tea water to heat, practice Qigong between cups of chai, and keep a 2 lb. weight in the kitchen for arm exercises while my smoothie whirs. Dance!
